Happy Mother's Day. Blessed that these three chose me to be their mama. And blessed to have had my beautiful mom in my life who gave me mine❤️

The first photo was taken while looking for shark teeth on the beach in Sarasota County. The second was taken on a bench near the Ringling Museum, also in Sarasota. Days I remember and will always cherish.

Whether you're a mom to children, pets, friends, or whomever, remember that you're special and loved. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Here's a little history about the origin of this holiday: Saint Valentine was a 3rd-century Roman priest and bishop from Interamna (modern-day Terni in Umbria), Italy, who was martyred on February 14, 269 AD, for secretly marrying couples against the orders of Emperor Claudius II. His relics are housed in the Basilica of San Valentino in Terni, and he is forever known as someone who stood for love.

Thrilled that the is opening its new aquarium to the public today in Sarasota/Bradenton.

This place is dear to my heart, having grown up learning about marine animals at its former location on City Island near . My dad, Tony Zara, also worked here after he retired from , and my kids LOVED going here when we visited my parents, which was often. In fact, the bricks we purchased honoring my mom and dad at the entryway to the former Mote location remain there. I hope we get the opportunity to do the same at the new aquarium.

Hope to see everyone at the opening. Congrats to all at the Mote for their hard work in making this happen.
