Congratulations on 10 years to 🎉
“10 Years Sober What a Decade Taught Me
A full decade sober. ✨
If you’d told me 10 years ago this would be my life, I wouldn’t have believed you.
Truth is, I never wanted this at first. My family was my biggest inspiration to get sober so if you think you can’t get sober because someone else wants it for you, I call BS.
Sometimes we start for them, but we stay because we finally realize we’re worth it. 💥
I still work every single day to protect my sobriety, and if I could break down the last 10 years into 10 lessons, here’s what I’d say:
1️⃣ One day at a time.
24 hours. Just focus on today.
2️⃣ We can’t do this alone.
Find your tribe AA, church, gym, wherever your people are.
3️⃣ Tell yourself you can drink tomorrow.
Little mental trick… tomorrow never comes 😉
4️⃣ Sobriety isn’t punishment it’s freedom.
Build a life you don’t want to escape from.
5️⃣ Stay open-minded.
There’s no one right path. Learn, grow, stay curious.
6️⃣ Don’t take yourself too seriously.
Rule #62 if you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong.
7️⃣ You’ll fall in love with yourself and outgrow people.
Leveling up means letting go. Keep moving forward. Thankful for my sober tribe.
8️⃣ Not everyone will support you.
That’s okay. It’s your journey, not theirs.
9️⃣ The gym will save your life.
I swapped bars for barbells and never looked back. 🏋️♀️
🔟 Don’t stress the “God thing.”
Healing takes obedience and daily wins not instant miracles.
1️⃣1️⃣ Bonus: I don’t hide my recovery.
God saved my life, and I told Him that if He freed me, I’d spend mine helping others find freedom too.
If talking about the 12 Steps, God, or recovery offends you I’m probably not your page 😎
And I can’t forget the thousands who’ve supported me along the way — my friends, my family, my amazing sponsors, and every woman I’ve had the honor to sponsor. 🤍
You’ve all helped me far more than I’ve ever helped you.
I’m beyond grateful for what God’s doing and everything that’s ahead — I can’t wait for this next chapter… 💍 , entrepreneurship coaching, travel, helping more people, and all the beautiful things to come.
The best is yet to come. ✨”
