Halloween is about more than costumes, candy and fun. 🎃 For kids spending time in the hospital, a little Halloween joy can mean so much more.

💜 The Spirit of Children mission is especially meaningful to our family. Through our journey with Shriners Children’s Chicago (Celebrating 100 Years this year!🥳), we’ve experienced firsthand how Child Life and Recreation Therapy can help kids build confidence, find connection and simply be kids, even during difficult moments.

Since 2006, Spirit of Children has supported Child Life programs at more than 165 partner hospitals, with 100% of funds raised going directly to Child Life Services. Our local Spirit Halloween supports the services we and so many of our friends have been able to experience.

We’re grateful for programs that help make hospitals a little less scary and childhood a little more joyful. ❤️🎃

Curious about an intentional Montessori approach to childhood? Don't miss this opportunity! ➡️ The Prepared Parent: A Montessori Approach to Intentional Family Life

What if your child’s behavior is an invitation to understand them more deeply?
This fall, NewGate School invites Sarasota families with toddlers to join “The Prepared Parent: A Montessori Approach to Intentional Family Life” — a free six-week parent-child program designed to help families better understand child development through a Montessori lens.

🧒🏼 Together, parents and toddlers will explore a prepared Montessori environment while parents observe, participate, reflect, and learn practical ways to support development, confidence, connection, participation, and growth.
The series is facilitated by Ayalah Bukhsbaum, a Montessori educator and parent with experience leading a Montessori toddler classroom. Currently continuing her Montessori education, Ayalah brings together Montessori philosophy, classroom experience, and the realities of everyday family life.

Visitors to Lights at Spooky Point will journey along a hauntingly lit trail that winds through the wooded grounds and historic landmarks of the campus. Along the path, guests will encounter whimsical Halloween displays and imaginative light installations at every turn. Returning favorites include the spectral “ghost orchids” that hover above the Pioneer Graveyard, towering “Dracula orchids” draped in eerie Spanish moss, and vibrant “spider orchids” spun into glowing webs high in the trees.
