Ignore my goofy smile as I am terrible at selfies (best of like 5 tries). But Taylor, Jen and myself did get to the theater this Sunday to see the new movie Twisters. This has been talked about for years and production started like 3 years ago, filming two years ago. Having just been on a movie filming project myself (NOT this movie, something else coming 2025) it was cool to see how this played out. Overall was quite entertained. Was only sad not to see more connection to the original. But I respect (as someone who wants to direct and produce movies) that creatives want their vision to bloom. Definitely did that. It really stands on its own as a good movie. Really, only minor cringe moments with science and ham/CB radios not having antenna cables connected (like those fake DJs with mixing tables but no cables connected).

Fittingly there were good storms as we walked in (sorry I didn’t get a better shot).

Will probably watch it again for full critique. This night was just about having fun with fellow Tampa-Sarasota storm chasers.

Not sure why I’m posting this (never really do pics of me). Perhaps just remember how bad-azz Skydiving was. Maybe just to try something different.

It’s ON! Well, soon-ish. Plans for Great Plains Storm Expedition 2024 (Trip 1) are now getting locked in. More details to come. This expedition is going to be the earliest I have ever headed out west…April. So many challenges and such. Vastly different, but still chasing tornadoes, supercells, lightning and more. More details to come.

Not much in the way of storms but that is OK. Out in the central South Florida areas (headwaters of the Everglades) filming wildlife and doing some camping and overland shakeout testing (see & ) for bigger adventures in the future.

Saw some good stuff. More pictures coming!!

Small local chase today in central south Florida. Skirted the edge of a small line of thunderstorms that briefly made an appearance west of Okeechobee (City). After I got Dunkin and returned to cottage for more editing.

Without that annoying audio clip…last sunset of 2023, and coming to a close. Love, hate, appreciate, frustrate and so many more emotions, triumphs, trails. Main thing I want anyone reading this to know: I’ve got more coming that you’ll enjoy. Already been working hard at new moves. If the second half of 2023 is the trend, 2024 will be a good year. No promises, just keep on watching!

An art installation inspired by Hurricane Ian. This is at the (the old High School building). The art is by Judy Pfaff (.pfaff). I did not know about this one previously. Will be doing more research and may have to make an episide about it and her on Youtube channel (will link that later).
