FILM ACADEMY FALL SESSION
This 12-week session, our first during the school year, is designed for kids who’d like to learn how to make short films and online videos. We will produce more professional-quality short films and videos that can be entered into film festivals (like the Sarasota Film Festival), serve as portfolio pieces or be posted online. The young filmmakers will learn how to make short films and online videos in a variety of genres, focusing on screenwriting, cinematography, Generative AI, VFX, directing, and acting, and producing. We will teach the filmmakers how to use the necessary filming equipment, including cameras, lights and green screens, as well as how to edit in industry-standard Adobe Premiere and CapCut. We will also learn much film and video history, watching and analyzing clips from classic fantasy movies and social media sensations. We will showcase all the films and videos created in a screening on the last day of session.
