This is why I so care about my bees!

The idea behind this fact is powerful, but the numbers are often exaggerated.

A summer worker honeybee typically lives around 4–6 weeks, and during that time produces only about 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey, far less than a full spoon.

To make that tiny amount, the bee may visit tens of thousands of flowers over its lifetime.

Every trip involves collecting nectar, flying back to the hive, passing it to other worker bees, and helping evaporate excess water until it becomes honey.

Honey is more than food, it's the colony's survival reserve.

Bees store it to feed thousands of hive members through winter and during periods when flowers are scarce. Every drop represents countless flights and an enormous amount of collective effort.

Even more valuable than the honey is the pollination bees provide.

As they move from flower to flower, they help plants reproduce, supporting wild ecosystems and many of the fruits, vegetables, and nuts humans depend on.

There is a first time for everyone and today was my first at catching a swarm from a beautiful lake front property on The Great Sacandaga Lake. Every county has swarm catchers and my friend is one of them. He was busy with his bees and asked if I could do it. I said sure! What a great experience it was! The homeowners were great people and I am more blessed just meeting two kind individuals! I truly enjoyed just sitting and talking with them with their breath taking views of the lake. I wish them many more years of bee free summers with their family and friends! Thank you for your kind gift of you find this Don and Kathy!
