For an in-depth look at what the 60’s were all about, and what alternative NYC was like back then, this great documentary, not officially even out yet, is a must see. The Fugs were poets and performance artists on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, who came together in 1964 and proceeded to freak out half the country and turn on the other half before their breakup in 1969. Moving and fascinating, and taking things up to the present, this film is an absolute necessity for grabbing hold of what that revolutionary decade was all about, and will be an inspiration to a new generation - once it finds a distributor and comes out in 2026. When it does - go see it. Because when it comes to fighting the good fight - The Fugs’ spirit lives on.
