New client www.susanrichardson.net is a local artist and author. Her challenge was to create a website that reflected her talents and showcased all of her offerings under a cohesive umbrella using her name. We were able to accomplish that a much more! In this custom site, Susan showcases and sells her art, books, classes etc. You will also see how we built this site from the ground up, seamlessly tying in her color choices, new logo, video, events, classes, stained glass and books. Websites don’t have to be boring! Each website I design has a special story behind it. For this site, it was important that it represented a sense of relief or calm and portrayed a custom look which is evident in the colors, fonts, and overall composition. The client wants the visitors to feel the intent, which demonstrates how she hopes her clients will feel when choosing to work with her. This client came to me for a website redesign. One of the creative pieces I included was designing a company motto piece. I was able to listen closely to what the business stands for and write a meaningful message that they will carry through on many promotional platforms including using it on business cards and social media as well. These are the projects where I can blend creative writing and artistic design.

Choose your logo carefully. Often times when I begin working on redesigning a website I talk to my clients about their logo because it is either not represented, needs improvement or does not exist at all. Remember, your company logo can inspire loyalty and instill a love for your business. It also represents your style and makes a memorable impact. My top tip is to focus on the ease of describing your logo and making one that is easy to decipher, and quick for the eye to catch when using it throughout marketing, especially social media. A logo should be the icon of your business and make a lasting impact. If possible it should help In describing who you are or what you do. Your logo needs to look pleasing and complement your website and other platforms. But most importantly it should be recognizable. In this case the letter D was important to this client and we wanted it to stand out. In addition, the script font used is also a title heading font used throughout their new website providing a cohesive look. It will surely be easy to spot. Mission complete!

Don’t forget this is also the case for when you are working on your mobile devices as well - especially your phone. Make sure you position your phone at eye level and above for longer periods.
