Accolades are extended to the Sauk Village Fire Department. They hosted an Open House today that brought together our community, providing educational opportunities and fun for our youth, as well as valuable resources for the community. The fire apparatus was on display, and tours were provided
While we were there, we were so appreciative of seeing Clerk Williams, Trustee Jones, and Trustee Sterling. Of course, Mayor Campbell-Pruitt stopped by to greet citizens and support Chief Damm, Deputy Chief Barrett, and all of the staff.
We sincerely appreciate all who attended today's event

Good afternoon residents!

Just a friendly reminder about our exciting Open House tomorrow 10/18 from 11am till 1pm!

Due to the possibilty of rain during that time, we will be having all activities inside the station. Catering will be from Sauk Village's own Fork & K's!

Come out and learn more about our firefighters, department, and this year's fire safety theme "Lithium-Ion Battery Safety"!

We will be having the following fun activities and giving out goodie bags to children that attend:

Mini pumpkin painting
Fire Department themed coloring pages
A mini bouncy house
Assorted mini games
Try on a firefighter's gear and picture
A chance to check out our Engines and Ladder truck
Fire Safety Treasure hunt
Blood Pressure and Sugar checks

There is a water main break in the area where new mains are being installed. The contractors will return to the area of 221st and 222nd and Merrill first thing on Monday. Once the new pipes are completely installed, the older ones will be taken out of commission. We apologize for the inconveniences experienced on Saturday and today.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week 2025 — Wrapping Up Strong! 🔥

This week, the Sauk Village Fire Department had the privilege of visiting our District 168 schools — Blossoms, Wagoner, Strassburg, and Rickover — teaching students about this year’s theme: “Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home!”

Our crews shared lessons on:

Charging devices safely and spotting battery hazards 🔋

Creating a home fire escape plan 🏃‍♂️

The importance of working smoke alarms 🔔

“Stop, Drop, and Roll” and “Close Before You Doze” 🚪🔥

The excitement, curiosity, and teamwork from every class made this week unforgettable. Thank you to all the teachers, principals, and staff who helped make fire safety fun and engaging!

Congratulations to Our Door Decoration Contest Winners! 🎉

As part of Fire Prevention Week 2025—“Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home!”—our District 168 students brought the creativity! Thank you to every classroom that participated and to our amazing teachers and staff who helped make safety fun.

🍕 Each winning class will receive a Pizza Party courtesy of the Sauk Village Fire Department!

Special shoutout to all the students who highlighted smart charging, safe storage, and what to do if a battery overheats or smells odd. Your artwork helps spread real safety tips at home. 🔋🔥

🚒 Boot Drive Success — Thank You, Sauk Village!
We wrapped up Fire Prevention Week today with our annual Boot Drive, and your generosity truly shined. Every donation helps us continue safety education, community programs, and equipment improvements that keep Sauk Village safe.


A huge thank you to Dunkin’ Donuts for sponsoring today’s drive and keeping our firefighters and supporters fueled with coffee and treats — and to every resident who stopped by to donate, wave, or say hello.

Together, we’re building a safer, stronger Sauk Village. ❤️💪

We will regretably be closed for the next two Saturdays due to lack of funding from Cook County. While we hope these are the only two days we will have too close this year we understand that we may see more cuts in hours and services in the next coming months. To date tax bills are 3 months late and we are hopeful that they will be sent to home owners soon so that we and other govrenment agencies can return to business as usual.
