With Newport Polo, beaches, restaurants, and attractions like Rail Explorers nearby, it’s the perfect home base for an amazing Rhode Island weekend.

FOR RHODE ISLAND ARTISTS
Following a successful opening reception, Rhode Island Art Gallery is expanding its display space and accepting applications from a limited number of Rhode Island artists working in wall-hung 2D media, excluding photography.
Located in the historic Muenchinger King Building at 38 Bellevue Avenue in Newport, the gallery operates on a 0% commission and artists receive 100% of their art sales. Participating artists pay a small monthly fee (generally $175 to $275, depending on the size of their display space) to help offset the gallery’s operating expenses. In addition, we rely on donations and sponsors to help with gallery costs and expenses.
Participating artists also receive:
• Their own private opening reception at the gallery
• A dedicated artist page on RIArtGallery.com
• A full-page profile in Discover Rhode Island’s annual Art Issue
• Promotion through Discover Rhode Island’s media platforms
• Opportunities to participate in gallery events throughout the year
Artists work one eight-hour gallery shift each month.
The gallery is carefully curated, and participation is based on the quality of the work and its fit within the overall collection. We have room for only a few additional artists as we expand. Once those spaces are filled, we will begin a waiting list.
Interested artists are invited to send us a direct message with a brief introduction and examples of their work.
