ใครว่าคนไทยทำหนังฮอลลิวูดไม่ได้ Who says Thais can’t make Hollywood movies?

ในตอนแรกๆ บอกว่าเราจะสร้างหนังในอเมริกา หลายคนไม่เชื่อว่าเราจะทำจริงหรือทำได้ When I first mentioned I was going to make a movie in America, many people didn’t believe I would actually do it or that I could pull it off.
จากการที่เป็นนักเขียนสองภาษามาหลายปี ทั้งเขียนหนังสือหลายสิบเล่มและหลายร้อยบทความ รวมกับการทำงานล่ามกฎหมายและล่ามทางการแพทย์ในอเมริกามากว่าสามสิบปี เลยสะสมทักษะการเขียนและความรู้จากประสบการณ์จริงในการทำงาน นอกจากนี้ได้เรียนรู้ทักษะใหม่เพิ่มเติมคือการเขียนบทภาพยนตร์ เลยตัดสินใจเขียนบทและสร้างหนังเกี่ยวกับงานล่ามขึ้นมา Having been a bilingual writer for many years, with dozens of books and hundreds of articles to my name, along with over thirty years of experience as a legal and medical interpreter in America, I’ve accumulated strong writing skills and practical knowledge from real-world work experience. Additionally, I’ve learned a new skill: screenwriting. So, I decided to write a script and create a movie about the world of interpreting.
ณ จุดนี้ เรามาถึงจุดที่จะกำลังจะเปิดกล้องถ่ายทำหนังสองภาษาเรื่อง The Thai Interpreter กันแล้ว และคัดตัวแสดงหลักๆ ไปแล้ว มีนักแสดงทั้งไทยและอเมริกันสมัครมาออดิชั่นกว่า 700 คน ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้มีนักเขียนเป็นคนไทย ผู้อำนวยการสร้างคนไทยและโปรดิวเซอร์คนไทย และจะถ่ายทำที่ย่านฮอลิวูด รัฐแคลิฟอร์เนีย เป็นหนังที่จะโชว์ซอฟพาวเวอร์ของไทย ไม่ว่าจะเป็น อาหารไทย นวดไทย มวยไทย ภาษาไทย และพุทธศาสนา At this point, we’ve reached the stage where we’re about to start filming the bilingual movie The Thai Interpreter. We’ve already cast the main roles, with over 700 Thai and American actors auditioning. This film has a Thai writer, Thai executive producers, and a Thai production company, and it will be filmed in the Hollywood area of California. The movie will showcase the soft power of Thailand, including Thai food, Thai massage, Muay Thai, Thai language, and Buddhism.
หนังจะออกฉายต้นปีหน้า เราจะโชว์ให้เห็นว่าคนไทยก็ทำได้และทำได้ดีด้วยค่ะ The movie is set to be released early next year. We’ll show everyone that Thais can do it and do it well too!
