Just another normal day...until an entire army of geese decides the parking lot belongs to them. 😂

At this point, I think we're just visitors in their world.

One of the things I’ve been enjoying most about going back through The Chris & Sandy Show archive is realizing how much wisdom was sitting inside conversations we had years ago.

Our January 2021 interview with actor and acting coach Mark McKinnon was one of those.

Mark talked openly about the years when acting controlled too much of his identity—when the highs of the industry made life feel great and the slow seasons brought depression, financial pressure and doubt.

Then he learned something that changed everything:

“It was just a puzzle piece of my life. It wasn’t everything.”

We also talked about faith, marriage, rejection, becoming more comfortable with who you are, and why success should increase your responsibility to help other people.

One line from Mark has stayed with me:

“The higher you go, the more responsibility you have.”

We’ve now turned that conversation into a full feature exploring the story and lessons behind it.

Read it here:

Sometimes the best parts of an interview aren’t about the project someone was promoting.

They’re about the life lessons hiding underneath it.

Millions know Daphne Maxwell Reid as Aunt Viv from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

But one of my favorite moments from our conversation with her had nothing to do with television.

We asked what advice she would give someone who wanted to do what she does.

Her answer was essentially:

Don't try to become me. Discover what makes you you.

Daphne talked about recognizing the talents and gifts you've been given, exploring them and actually using them.

That's such an important distinction.

We can learn from people.

We can admire their careers.

We can study what worked for them.

But their path isn't supposed to become our identity.

Sometimes inspiration should lead us back to ourselves.

Check out our full profile on the interview we did with her:

We usually talk about success by counting everything it gives someone.

But what about what it takes?

When we talked with Tiffany, we asked about the sacrifice behind decades of touring and success.

Her answer was time.

Weddings she couldn't attend. Birthdays she missed. Moments that happened while she was somewhere else doing what she had dreamed of doing.

“I learned to kind of miss a lot of great moments.”

That answer has stuck with us because it's bigger than the music business.

Dreams can be worth pursuing. But the older we get, the more important it becomes to understand what we're trading to pursue them.

Watch our conversation with Tiffany and hear the story behind the success.

Tiffany is a singer-songwriter and performer whose career began with extraordinary success while she was still a teenager. Her recording of “I Think We’re Alone Now” became a defining pop…

Congrats to Ella Langley on making some serious music history!

“Choosin’ Texas” has now spent 23 total weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, officially breaking the all-time record previously held by Mariah Carey s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” at 22 weeks. 🔥

And here’s where this gets really interesting…

I’ve seen a lot of comments saying Mariah will simply take the record back when Christmas rolls around. She absolutely could — but Ella may not be finished adding weeks either.

Mariah’s 22 weeks were accumulated across multiple holiday seasons, and Ella’s 23 weeks have not all been consecutive either. So if “All I Want for Christmas Is You” returns to #1 this Christmas, those weeks will continue adding to Mariah’s total.

But every additional week Ella stays at #1 right now raises that bar.

So we could actually have a pretty fascinating chart battle developing as we head toward the holidays.

Regardless of what happens next, 23 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 is an incredible accomplishment.

Congratulations, Ella! 👏🔥
