What do photographs of Appalachia, Beauty Queens, Cotton, Elvis, Football, Pine Trees, Swamps, and Waffle House all have in common? All of them depict the contemporary South.

Some people think it's weird but I love cemeteries. If you do, too, check out this page. No one is doing more in Georgia to document them than Cynthia Jennings!

Felix Jones can be found most any day riding his bike around the Fernandina Beach historic district, selling his famous peanuts, and mangoes and pineapples, as well. He's perhaps the best-loved character in town. He has cerebral palsy and is retired as a custodian from Walmart. He doesn't keep the money he makes on the street. Instead, he gives it all to local schools and charities. When, a few years ago, a transplant to the city attempted to get him banned from peddling in order to advance his own business, the city rallied around Felix. Hundreds showed up at a council meeting in support of keeping him rolling. When given the floor to comment on the issue, Felix played "My Country 'Tis of Thee" on his trusty harmonica, leaving scarcely a dry eye in the place. Needless to say, he's still around, the best ambassador the city could hope for.
