We are so excited to share that the DOC Savannah short "Art With Every Breath" won the Savannah Spotlight Jury Award at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival this past week!

The club's November Social will be this Sunday, November 9th at 3 PM in the courtyard of Foxy Loxy Print Gallery and Café! Come connect, collaborate, and share stories with Savannah’s vibrant community of documentary filmmakers.

"Art With Every Breath" is available for viewing on the DOC Savannah Youtube and will be screening at Cucalorus Film Festival on November 21st in Wilmington, NC.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of the legendary Diane Ladd. The three-time Academy Award nominee brought her immense talent and grace to Savannah in 2022 while filming her final movie, "Isle of Hope." The film marks the culmination of an extraordinary career spanning more than 200 films and television shows.

🎬 Big news from the Savannah Regional Film Commission! Our intern, Owen Hollander, had the amazing opportunity to present the Spotlight Director Award to the incredible Craig Brewer at this year’s SCAD Savannah Film Festival for his latest film, Song Sung Blue. 💙

Brewer’s deep Southern roots continue to inspire him to “keep Hollywood in the South,” and his filmography speaks for itself — Footloose, Hustle & Flow, "Coming 2 America," and so many more fan favorites.

We couldn’t be prouder to celebrate such an inspiring director and the next generation of storytellers right here in Savannah!

Our very own DOC Savannah created a poignant micro short "Art with Every Breath" that will screen at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival in the “A Place in This World” Global Shorts Forum on Wednesday, October 29 at 2:00 PM.

The film spotlights Savannah artist Jerome Meadows and is directed by Caroline Josey Karoki, produced by Abbey Hoekzema, Caroline Josey Karoki, and Evan Griffiths, with additional support from Sean Marcus and Ross Bartels.

Film Savannah had a fantastic time attending and sponsoring the second annual Golden Isles Film Festival this weekend! Congratulations to dynamic founders Pryce May and AJ Alston on another outstanding year.

Hosted in the beautiful and historic city of Brunswick, GA, the festival celebrated the creativity, passion, and talent of independent filmmaking through a weekend of screenings, workshops, and engaging panels. Highlights included thought-provoking discussions on The State of Creative AI, Entertainment Law with attorney Bo Bowen, and a lively opening night screening of Shutter Bird with a Q&A from co-writer, Ayi.
