Miami is not concerned about any potential offensive spacing or fit issues involving a Giannis–Bam Adebayo frontcourt pairing. The franchise is reportedly prepared to present Giannis with a substantial extension package and is confident in its ability to secure his long-term commitment.
On Milwaukee’s side, the Bucks are taking a patient approach, opting to wait until after the playoffs or Finals before seriously entertaining offers from potential suitors. Any possible trade discussions are expected to intensify closer to the draft rather than immediately.
Miami is also believed to have a strong understanding of the type of players Milwaukee values most, and the Heat are not expected to be overly restrictive about including key rotation pieces in a potential deal.
If the Heat do manage to land Giannis, the team could still retain flexibility to re-sign both Norman Powell and Andrew Wiggins (who holds a player option). Additionally, Miami would be positioned to utilize the $15.5 million mid-level exception, provided both players agree to slight first-year pay reductions as part of longer-term contracts.
