On August 28, 1975, LV GP38-2s 323-322-321 lead ME-2 at the Yale Farm Road crossing in Romulus, NY, a location referred to as Reeder in the LV's timetable. After crossing the road, the train will cross Reeder Creek. The signal on the right of the train is still there to this day, although Dark. R. T. Steinbrenner Photo.

In 1972, with the Chemung River and its feeders running fast and high, workers tried to keep the New York Central Railroad bridge in place by loading it up with fully-laden coal cars. The idea was to anchor the bridge down… the result was as we see here. We’re looking northward across the river, toward those Corning Glass Works and Corning Glass Center buildings.
