Choice 102, WAVR Playing Classic Hits from the 70's and 80's coupled with an extensive commitment to community events, local news, and sports programming.

WATS-AM signed on as Bradford County's first radio station in July of 1950. Its call letters stand for Waverly, Athens, Towanda, Sayre. Then station owner Robert Kloss added WAVR-FM in 1974. Current owners Dave and Irene Radigan purchased the stations on November 1st, 2020 and immediately institued a locally programmed classic hits format, coupled with an extensive commitment to community events, local news, small business marketing and high school sports.

On Wednesday, two veterans received the Quilt of Valor at the Athens Wesleyan Church. Receiving the Quilts of Valor are Gerald Leahy of Sayre and Lawrence Raymond of Sugar Run. Gerald served in the Air Force from 1954-97 and Lawrence served in the Army from 1974-84. Thank you both and all our veterans for your service!

BREAKING NEWS: Pennsylvania is experiencing an intermittent statewide outage of 911 call centers. It’s unclear how many counties have been impacted, though agencies have directed residents, via social media posts, to call nonemergency numbers in the meantime. Bradford County Non-Emergency line is: 570-265-9101 The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency said it is “working with technical experts to resolve the issue and restore service as quickly as possible.” (This is a developing story.)

🔹 WATER DEPARTMENT NOTICE
Beginning Monday, July 14, the Water Main Project will resume on Orchard Street (between Clinton St & Chemung St).

➡️ Traffic Impact:
Expect one-lane traffic on Chemung St at Orchard St.

We appreciate your patience as this essential infrastructure work continues.

🔹 STREETS DEPARTMENT NOTICE
Street Milling will take place on:
📅 Wednesday, July 16 & Thursday, July 17
🕖 Starting at 7:00 AM (weather permitting)

🛠️ Streets scheduled for milling:

Spring St (Elliott St to Wilbur St)

Spring St (Garfield St to Wilbur St)

Pennsylvania Ave (Chemung St to Elm St)

Providence St (Bus Garage to Cayuta Ave)

Fulton St (Moore St to Chemung St)

Lincoln St (Lyman Ave to Clinton St)

Chemung St (Lincoln St to Dandy Store)

Street Paving is scheduled for the week of July 21, 2025 (weather permitting).

🚗 Important Reminder:
All vehicles must be removed from the roads and roadsides by 6:00 AM on paving days.
Vehicles not moved will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Bracket schedule for the Future Stars Classic⚾️👇🏼

☔️The rain over the last few nights has made the fields not playable for a few days…so we’re going right into bracket play this weekend!
