On Saturday, I attended a banquet honoring HOPS Ambulance Association on its 50th anniversary. It was a pleasure to be invited and present a House citation to recognize the milestone. Thank you for 50 years of service to local residents of Herrickville, Orwell, Pike and Stevens townships.

I am pictured, from left, with Bradford County Commissioner Daryl Miller and H.O.P.S Captain Mark Fields.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank these local businesses, organizations, and individuals for registering early for this year's Christmas Parade. Registration forms are available at the Borough Hall (110 West Packer Avenue) and on our website (www.sayreborough.org). This year's parade will be the kick-off event for Bradford County's America250 PA celebration and parade participants are encouraged to incorporate this year's theme "Christmas In America" into their float. The most important rule is that there is only one Santa Claus in the parade and he arrives in town on the last fire truck in the parade.

October is both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Menopause Awareness Month ๐Ÿ’—๐ŸŒธ

This month serves as an important reminder to prioritize womenโ€™s health โ€” to pause, check in, and take care of our bodies.

๐Ÿฉบ Breast Cancer Awareness reminds us how vital regular self-exams, screenings, and mammograms are. Early detection truly can save lives.

๐ŸŒฟ Menopause Awareness encourages open conversation about a topic thatโ€™s often overlooked โ€” helping women understand the physical and emotional changes that come with this natural stage of life, and reminding us all that support and education make a difference.

Taking time to care for your health, talk with your doctor, and support the women in your life can have a lasting impact. Awareness is the first step toward prevention, understanding, and empowerment. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’–

Mayor Henry Farley and the members of the Sayre Borough Council would like to recognize School Resource Officer Dalton Spencer for launching the patch design contest at Snyder Elementary School. This creative initiative provides SRO Spencer and the students with an opportunity to interact in a positive way and strengthens their relationship.

Mayor Farley and the Borough Council would also like to congratulate Snyder Elementary student Nikita Westbrook on having her design be the one selected for this school year's patch. SRO Spencer will be wearing the patch as part of his duty uniform during the current school year. More information about this initiative can be found in today's edition of the Morning Times and The Daily Review. Sayre Borough Police Department
