The Choice Mornng Show was pleased to welcome w/Pastor Cindy Schulte and Jane Lee to the Gannon Associates Insurance Island to discuss GriefShare. GriefShare is a 13 week Faith-based grief support group that incorporates insight from grief recovery experts, conversations with others who understand what you are going through, offers tips for navigating our grief, and alerts us to the 6 signs of healing from grief. The group meets weekly, and includes some helpful videos and discussion and culminates with a special Blue Christmas service that is unlike any other church service you've been to...it will help folks get through the upcoming holidays. The group is facilitated by Jane Lane a licensed social worker who specializes in grief counseling and Pastor Cindy Schulte from Waverly Community Methodist Church. GriefShare is open to anyone in our community struggling to cope with grief, whether they belong to a faith community or not, you are welcome to come learn how to move forward when you just feel stuck. The Choice Morning Show was please to welcome Kim Paul, the Bridge president and Liz Cocco, the long-time food pantry coordinator. The Valley Food Pantry in Waverly is expanding after purchasing the entire building at 418 Waverly Street, where it has operated from a small space for more than two decades. The expansion comes as demand has grown significantly, with the number of families served increasing 58% and individuals receiving assistance increasing 74% since 2017. The larger facility will offer a dedicated entrance, waiting and intake areas, expanded shopping and storage space, and other improvements, but approximately $65,000 in renovations are needed. The Bridge of the Penn-York Valley Churches is seeking grants and community donations, with an anonymous donor offering up to $10,000 in matching funds for the renovation project.
