Armory Studios NY recognizes the 911 firemen, first responders, the victims and those who lost loved ones. 25 years does not diminish their sacrifice.
This Friday marks 25 years since September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our nation and communities across the country.
Here in Schenectady County, we join together to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the first responders who ran toward danger, recognize those who participated in the rescue and recovery efforts, and stand with the families whose lives were forever changed.
🇺🇸 9/11 Tribute Ceremony outside at the 9/11 Memorial Site adjacent to Max410 at The Waters Edge
The annual ceremony will take place at the 9/11 Memorial Site at Waters Edge in Glenville. Built in 2007, this special memorial incorporates two steel beams recovered from the World Trade Center, creating a permanent place in Schenectady County to remember those lost on September 11. For nearly two decades, the community has gathered at this site each year to ensure their memory lives on.
🇺🇸 Schenectady Police Department Memorial Stair Climb
Members of the Schenectady Police Department will honor the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11 through a special commemorative stair climb.
🙏 Honoring First Responders at St. Luke’s
At 11 am, St. Luke’s in Schenectady will hold a Mass honoring firefighters, police officers and medical personnel who served on that tragic day, while remembering all those who died and their families.
Twenty-five years later, the significance of September 11 remains deeply felt. We remember the lives that were taken too soon. We honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of first responders. And we remember the strength, compassion and unity shown by communities in the days and months that followed.
May we continue to share these stories with future generations and ensure that the promise made 25 years ago endures: We will never forget. 🇺🇸
