Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 CLIU21 offers a variety of educational services to our 14 public school districts, in Carbon and Lehigh counties, including charter and private schools!

The CLIU serves as the coordinating agency that brings together diverse school districts, vocational schools, businesses, higher education and community groups. The CLIU uses a "regional team" approach and through cooperation and collaboration among school districts and community agencies, provides innovative,

responsive, and cost-effective programs. It is the job of the Intermediate Unit to facilitate inter-district cooperation, provide educational and administrative services to schools, and function as a link between the Pennsylvania Department of Education and local school districts. CLIU provides a broad range of services to fourteen public school districts, non-public schools and two Career and Technical Institutes of the Carbon and Lehigh counties. Our services include: Curriculum and Instruction, Staff Development, Educational Technologies, Special Education Services, Non-Public School and Behavioral Health Services. Additionally, the CLIU also offers technology solutions through our Management Information Systems department as well as Business, Human Resources and Management services in community and educational settings. We're always having constructive conversations with our educational leaders, listening to their needs, and making sure we're all heading in the right direction. Executive Director Dr. Greg Koons and C&I Director Eric L**h from IU21 are leading these discussions alongside Dr. Lauren Paterson from BloomBoard!

At this year's Education Leadership Forum, we're working on pathways into education for students and adults, retaining our best staff, recruiting educators to our schools, and other pressing issues.

Look at these girls go!!! Each summer, we spend a group of our students to Girl Scouts Camp Mosey Wood for a week of fun in nature! They get to swim, row a canoe, shoot bow&arrow, and all sorts of camping fun!

Are you ready to take your leadership skills to the next level? We are excited to announce the next cohort of our PA Superintendent Letter of Eligibility Certification program with King's College. This program is designed for working education administrators who aspire to district-level leadership.

Program Highlights:
Comprehensive Coursework: Enhance your professional competencies with courses like District Leadership in the 21st Century, District Strategic Leadership, and Organizational Leadership.

Flexible and Online: Hosted entirely online with both asynchronous and synchronous sessions to accommodate your busy schedule.

Oh the places you'll go! 🎈

This is a monumental occasion for us here at CLIU21. This is our first graduating class of preschool students in our Early Intervention program! It cannot be understated how hard we have been working to prepare our earliest learners at our Carbon County, Lehigh County, and Whitehall-Coplay Early Learning Centers.

We're so proud of our students, their parents, and our educators for making our early learning centers such a success!

LOOK AT THAT SHOE! Our IU student Olivia at Southern Lehigh High School made this shoe in a 3D design course as her final exam project. She had to create a shoe through any medium she wanted!

The base of the shoe is cardboard and it actually fits her foot! She then decorated it with all sorts of craft items such as glitter, acrylic gems, and broken Crayola crayons. We love to see creativity and expression from our students!
