Also known as Battle Canyon, the Battle of Punished Woman Fork, which took place in Scott County, Kansas, on September 27, 1878, was the last Indian battle in Kansas. A marker designates the battle site, and a monument has been placed over Sanctuary Cave.

Review by Donna Johnson:

The owner of the Lazy E R motel has two motel sites. My husband and I stayed at the motel on South Main for two nights. Each room is remodeled with a unique theme, very clean and cozy. We stayed in the repurposed old wood fence room. The owner also showed us a few more rooms. All were very nice! We'll again stay there.

Happy July! We have such an exciting month in store! The big thing is, next weekend, July 7-9 we are having "Small Town Christmas in July", in Scott City, KS at the new community building at the fairgrounds north of town! This is going to be such an exciting event for everyone! We are FULL of all different kinds of vendors! The hours are Friday the 7th 4pm-7pm, Saturday the 8th 8am-4pm and Sunday the 9th 12pm-4pm. Can't wait to see you all there! 🎄🎅
