Phoenix pulled SEMICON West after SF held it for 35 years.
The numbers made it simple. Arizona’s sitting on $200B in chip investments, TSMC’s $40B fab complex, expanded Intel operations, 75+ semiconductor companies rebuilding U.S. supply chains. Conference goes where the actual manufacturing happens, not where people talk about it.
First Phoenix run drew 35k attendees, up 50% from last year. Exhibitors jumped 45%, sold out in December.
Got to shoot this for at their Innovation Partnerships session with Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and ASU President Michael Crow. Good reminder that infrastructure moves happen when policy, universities, and capital all show up in the same room.
Industries migrate when the incentives line up. Phoenix built the capacity, everything else followed.
