30 spins around the sun 🌞 spent in the most beautiful place with my fav humans

The last 3 decades have taught me A LOT. About life, love, finding peace, relationships, myself. And what a strange age…sometimes I feel like I’ve lived a million lives and other times I still feel like a child.

I’m grateful for all the people I’ve crossed paths with, good or bad because they’ve all taught some kind of lesson.

But extra grateful for my husband, family, and friends. 🤍

I’m thankful for the weekend getaways, cross country road trips, most recently Italy, and everywhere in between. I think travel is essential for inspiration and expansion.

I’m proud of myself, for the woman I’m becoming. She is brave, aware, resilient, loving, and takes s**t from nobody!!!

Life has been so good to me, but I have a feeling this will be the best decade yet 💫

THANK YOU to everyone that took the time to wish me a happy birthday, and to anyone that has made the journey of these last 30 years that much sweeter!!!

Fun fact: had I not gone to hair school I would have probably aimed for a PhD in Psychology. (I’m all or nothing ok🤣)

I asked for a DSM as my hs graduation present 🥲

I’m obsessed with learning about how the brain operates, especially the inner workings of the subconscious mind. So much of who we identify as is rooted in beliefs that might not even belong to us.

Between the books I read, the content I consume, and my experience as a hairstylist over the last decade - I’ve learned a great deal on how to effectively communicate with people. I also find that I’m extremely open minded, and instead of passing judgement I lean into curiosity.

I LOVE getting to know people, listening to them. Getting a glimpse into their souls. I know that sounds deep but it’s true and it lights me tf up

Personally I think there’s so much value in learning psychology, especially as a hairstylist or salon owner. It will help you to expand your own mind as an entrepreneur, while giving you a better understanding of those you’re working with.

You know what’s out?? If IG or Canva trashes the quality of my pics, I’m just gonna post anyways because I don’t have endless hours to spend on this sh*t anymore 😂

I’m so done with trying to make everything perfect. Progress over perfection. That was one of my biggest take aways from 2024. I had to unlearn A LOT

Also I drastically shifted my mental state from forcing myself to do things out of low self esteem, to now wanting to do things out of self love.
(Ex. Excessively altering my diet and forcing myself to do intense work outs vs intuitively eating and listening to my body because that’s what actually makes me feel good)

And a bunch of other things that I’ll mention later, because does anyone even read captions for this long anyways??

Who else just wants to post with creativity and ease, rather than to appease an algorithm or sell something? 👇🏽

A very west coast Christmas dump

This year looked a lot different for us. Full transparency, not seeing your family on the holidays kinda sucks.

HOWEVER, it was so cool to do something totally different - we enjoyed spending time in CA with friends, ate some BOMB food, did some yoga, laughed our asses off, and grambi got to run free on the beach!

I think we hold so tight onto expectations of what the holidays should look like, at least I always have. 2024 has been the year of learning how to gracefully surrender. It’s ok for no two holidays to be the same, don’t be so hard on yourself.

Be present in the moment, embrace a new experience, honor how you feel, and hold past memories close. And if you are lucky enough to see your family, give everyone an extra squeeze 🫶🏼
