Before and after photos are always so motivating to me at the salon. After spending hours on a color correction I often forget exactly where it started. For this particular client my goals were to reduce the massive amount of brassiness in her hair, as well as to blend in the “headband” of solid blonde that was right near her face frame. The results were stunning, and the entire team at the salon was thrilled. Hair color correction by Megan and custom haircut by Erica.

Color correction by Megan. This was the first appointment with a new client, she has a beautiful natural base color, but has a great deal of previous breakage from past coloring. I accomplished so much with her hair the first appointment, but over the course of the next 6 to 12 months I look forward to working on the health of her hair. I’m hoping to get her onto a good product regime, as I can only do so much on the salon to improve the health of a clients hair. I see most of my clients every 6 to 8 weeks, and it’s actually what happens during every day that I don’t see them that is the deciding factor of whether their hair is healthy, or unhealthy. I would say that my biggest challenge has a hair colorist is trying to make people understand that using the correct professional products makes all the difference. I can only get your hair half is healthy, if you don’t use the products that I select in the salon daily until the next time I see you

Have you met Tammy? First of all, Tammy is so fashionable and cute, that she somehow makes carrying a trash bag out of the salon look like she is model in the Neiman Marcus catalog.

I met Tammy by chance. Through a friend that had worked on a salon in NYC. She told me how kind, sweet and incredibly talented Tammy was, and she suggested that we meet.

I’ve never looked back in that day without feeling incredibly grateful. Every single day where I get to work with Tammy is a great day. She is always thoughtful, makes me laugh and brings me cookies. ( food is the way to my heart) abs did I mention that she does the best haircuts I have ever seen in my entire life? Sometimes it’s easy to think about the things that are not perfect in your life, but when you know “a Tammy” you have everything that you need! ❤️❤️❤️

The most important thing to me when correcting color is to keep the hair as healthy as it can possibly be. That means using gentle color, lowlighting and highlighting instead of simply concealing undesirable color with a one process and taking my time to avoid re highlighting strands which have already been lightened. It’s really not just about making hair look good for an Instagram picture... it’s about making hair look great for everyday life.

Sometimes a transformation happens at the salon and I just have to keep looking at it. Erica did THE most beautiful extension transformation this week, and I couldn’t believe how natural it looked. “The path to success is to take massive determined action“ Tony Robbins. What small thing did you do today to get closer to your goals? I’d love to hear in your comments below, what actions you’re taking to get from where you are now to where you want to be.

For me, it’s never the huge things that make the difference, it’s the small steps I take every single day to get where I want to be. When I was working on launching my product, my goal was just to complete two tasks each day towards a launch. Some days it was researching the product, looking at package ideas, or trying out samples… But eventually it led to me starting my first successful product. Anything is possible when you take action.

❤️ especially in the world of social media, comments and likes. It’s easy to want to do more of what gets attention, and less of what feeds your soul. Being yourself and being true to yourself is the only thing that brings happiness. Living a life that is what others want brings instant gratification and eternal emptiness. Choosing to do what is important to you may be very uncomfortable at the moment ( I find it almost always is!) but to get to the top of the most beautiful mountains, we need to dig deep, and prepare for a challenging climb. Choose your own path!

First of all, who is this beautiful? I couldn’t choose only one photo of this stunning young lady, and I love this bright blonde on her so much. Some people say you should darken your blonde on the winter, but that is not always the case. The last time I colored this clients hair a great deal of time had passed between appointments, which makes achieving the perfect blonde difficult. She booked this past appointment 6-7 weeks out from her last color, and I was finally able to catch up on the color. The frequency of your appointments determines the beauty of your blonde ❤️
