5:10pm FINAL UPDATE: W 7th Street between West Street and Center Street remains closed, and is expected to remain closed for several hours. Please note, this unfortunately includes residents in that area for now, but their access to houses in the area will be prioritized when it is deemed appropriate. This incident is a confirmed shooting investigation, with three gunshot victims. All three victims are males in their teens. Their conditions and identities are being withheld pending contact with next-of-kin.
The suspects are currently at large.
The investigation is being turned over to the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, as is standard practice for this type of investigation. The Laurel Police Department works hand-in-hand with the Delaware State Police, and is assisting in full capacity with their investigation. The Delaware State Police PIO will be responsible for updates from this point forward.
Anyone with information about this incident is being asked to contact Delaware State Police Troop 4 at 302-856-5850, and follow the phone prompts for the Homicide Unit. The public can also contact the Laurel Police Department at 302-875-2244 or by direct message to this page. Information can also be submitted anonymously to Delaware Crimestoppers by texting "KEYWORD" followed by your information to CRIMES (274637) or calling 800-847-3333. Tips submitted to Crimestoppers that lead to an arrest are potentially eligible for a cash reward.
As always, Sussex County emergencies should be reported to 911.
4:10pm UPDATE: The 500 Block of W 7th Street remains shut down, expect heavy police presence in the the area to maintain the integrity of the scene. The public is being asked to avoid the area. This post will be updated regularly.

**POLICE ACTIVITY NOTIFICATION**
The Laurel Police Department is currently on-scene of a shooting incident with multiple victims. This is an isolated incident. Victim statuses are not being released at this time. W 7th St, Center St, and W 8th St are all shut down.
Expect a heavy police presence by multiple assisting agencies, police K9, and police aviation. Please avoid the area.
