Windows are open!

It’s like winning the lottery!

It’s gorgeous out and we are sitting here with morning coffee. I missed this.

Every morning, weather permitting, I sit outside. Do you have a morning routine?

If you go to Peg Leg Pete’s check out the building. It is covered with old license plates. It’s fun to search them for your state or favorite state!

This restaurant is one of our favorite stops when we are in the area. Put your name on the waiting list and then check the bar to see if there is seating available. Almost always we end up grabbing a seat there and meet some amazing people and we love the bartenders! You can also keep an eye on the marina: beautiful houses and boats!

We had a dozen oysters, yellowfin tuna dip. Gary had the Mixed Grill and Kristeen had the grilled grouper sandwich and a cup of fish chowder. Yum!

🦪 If you only have time for ONE seafood stop on Pensacola Beach, put Peg Leg Pete’s on your list!

A local favorite since 1991, Peg Leg Pete’s is everything you want from a Gulf Coast seafood joint—fresh oysters, shrimp, grouper, cold drinks and a fun, laid-back pirate atmosphere.

Ps. Grab a T-shirt while you are there!

Don’t get me
Wrong. I know some love the heat!

I love spending time outdoors. For me, it was just so hot and it was so humid. Not used to that type of weather. First day back in Florida, I’m sitting outside. It feels pretty amazing!

Can anybody relate?

I know there’s a few people in colder places looking to get warm!

Do you like the heat?

I normally don’t share things like this but wow is this fantastic! And being from New England really makes this a little more amazing. You can zoom in on the smaller ones, too, like RI. You can see them in Narragansett Bay.

Good morning, All!First sunset on the road after five months…Breathtaking. ❤️

It’s not 100 degrees…there is a breeze. I’m watching pelicans.

Perfect!

The engineering is incredible, too. The twin bridges opened in 1973, and construction required about 174 miles of pilings, 170 miles of prestressed concrete girders, and around 40 miles of canals to reach the remote construction areas.

There’s just something about driving for miles above the swamps, bayous and cypress trees that makes this one of my faves. 💚

Have you ever crossed the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge?
