🌟Good news - Both directions of SR 410 at Sumner have reopened

‼️Alert from WSDOT: SR 410 Both Directions
Water over Roadway on SR 410 both directions at milepost 9.32 near E Main Ave/Traffic Ave beginning at 7:56 am on December 10, 2025 until further notice. Road is closed both directions at Traffic Ave.

⚠️ Evacuation Information for the Orting Community ⚠️

There is a LEVEL 3- GO NOW evacuation notice for community members that live in the area of Williams Bvld NW, Mellinger Ave NW, and Stone St NW.

There is a LEVEL 2 – BE SET evacuation notice for community members that live in the area High Cedars Golf Course community, south of the Puyallup River near 150th Ave E, 188th St E, 184th St E, 176th St Et, 168th St E, and off Pioneer Way E, 177th St E, and Patterson Rd E. Please be prepared to evacuate at a moment’s notice.

A shelter is set up for displaced community members at the Orting Multi-Purpose Center (Library location at 202 Washington Ave S).

River levels within Orting are extremely high. City of Orting levee improvements are working as designed. Our concern is the levees upstream on the Puyallup River in the south end of town. We are actively monitoring river levels in that area. BE PREPARED to evacuate if advised by local authorities. DO NOT WALK OR DRIVE through moving water or on flooded roadways. IF DRIVING, do not drive around a barricade or on closed roads.

Yesterday she officially took office as the first Black woman to serve on the King County Council. With her appointment, the Council now celebrates its first‑ever majority of women in history.
