Happy Lucia Day! 🤍✨
One of my favorite Scandinavian traditions!

On December 13th, families across Scandinavia celebrate the return of light with candle crowns, white gowns, saffron buns, and songs passed down through generations.

A few fun facts:
• Lucia’s candle crown originally used real candles!
• Kids wake their families early with songs + warm saffron buns
• The white gowns symbolize light, and the red sash represents hope 🌟

Want to celebrate at home?
- Light a candle at breakfast
- Make (or buy!) saffron buns
- Share a story or tradition that brings your family together

Simple, cozy, meaningful—just the way Scandinavian traditions should feel.
Wishing you a bright and beautiful Lucia Day! ✨

The Dala horse has long been a symbol of strength, love, and good fortune.

I wanted to take that classic symbol and give it a fresh, modern twist. Our clear acrylic laser-cut Dala horse ornament blends the beauty of tradition with the simplicity of Scandinavian design. Clean lines, timeless shape, and a touch of sparkle that catches the light beautifully on any tree.

It’s a piece that feels both nostalgic and contemporary — something you can keep out all season long (or even year-round!).

I love creating ornaments that carry meaning, tell a story, and bring a little Scandinavian tradition into your home. ❤️

There’s something so magical about being outside during the holidays. ❄️✨

In Scandinavian culture, there’s a word for this: friluftsliv (pronounced free-loofts-leeve). It means “open-air living,” and it’s all about embracing nature in every season — finding joy, calm, and connection by simply being outdoors. It’s a huge part of Scandinavian life, and I love bringing that spirit into my own holiday traditions.

Some of my favorite moments this time of year happen outside — visiting holiday markets, walking the neighborhood to see all the lights, or taking a cozy stroll bundled up in my favorite beanie.

Outdoor holiday markets will always have my heart. The people, the music, the food, the handmade treasures, it’s everything I love about the holidays. ❤️

There’s a special kind of joy that comes from stepping outside and soaking in the magic of winter — a little friluftsliv to warm the soul.

Do you have a favorite outdoor holiday tradition?

In Scandinavia, crafts aren’t just decorations — they’re shared moments. ✂️✨

Some of my favorite memories come from the simplest things… folding paper, weaving hearts, or creating something beautiful with my hands. Today I’m making a Froebel star — a classic Scandinavian paper star that has been part of Christmas traditions for generations. It’s delicate, calming, and always makes me smile. ⭐️

When I lived in Copenhagen, I attended so many ornament-making parties. It’s truly a tradition woven into their culture — friends gathering around tables with paper, candles, and warm drinks, spending hours folding, laughing, and creating together. Those moments left such an imprint on me.

And now, it’s something I love to do with my own friends and family during the holidays. There’s something so comforting about sitting down to craft — no rush, no pressure, just time together, making memories. ❤️

That’s why my children’s books include simple, meaningful craft activities like creating your own woven hearts. I want families to feel that same joy of slowing down, working with their hands, and building traditions that last.

Because the most treasured things we pass down aren’t the crafts themselves… but the memories we made while creating them. ✨

Do you have a holiday craft or tradition you love to make?

Our mission has always been simple: to keep Scandinavian heritage alive, one story and one meaningful heart at a time. ✨

So many of us grew up with those little traditions that made home feel special — paper hearts in the windows, candles glowing on dark winter nights, the smell of warm spices drifting through the house. Those moments stay with us. They remind us of love, connection, and where we come from. ❤️

Every heart, ornament, ribbon, and design I create is meant to carry that feeling forward — a way to connect generations, celebrate our roots, and share the symbols and stories that never fade.
