Hi, I'm Jon! I'm passionate about baking bread and excited to share that passion with you, along with my trusty sidekick Marty the Starty!

After taking some time away from social media to focus on my mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, I'm back and ready to share all that I've learned.

Country Sourdough White Loaf 🍞

Part of my obsession with sourdough has not only been to have a great country loaf with a deep rich crust and textures. But also one that I can use for everyday sandwiches but especially for PB&J (for the kids)…

Something that was still rich in flavor, but soft and delicate for our kids to eat and enjoy too.

Don’t get me wrong, our kiddos love the deep flavors of our normal sourdough loaves but were also asking “can we get normal sandwich bread to?”

Challenge Accepted ✅

This country sourdough white loaf is not only super soft, but extremely tasty with a mild hint of sourdough that our kiddos love!

I’m thinking of doing a full recipe breakdown in the future for this one, but I’m still trying to dial it in a little bit further. If that something that you might be interested in too let me know in the comments and go ahead and give this a lake as well.

This loaf has got EVERYTHING!

Literally, I laminated some everything bagel seasoning 🥯 into the dough and… hold on I need a minute… still chewing one sec, okay sorry about that where was I?

Oh yeah, I added everything seasoning to my daily loaf and it’s so good!

Also, if you want the breakdown on how to make your own everything seasoning for bagels or your sourdough, check out the ratios below. Plus it’s WAY better than normal store bought everything seasoning and these ratios will give you a decent batch to use for lots of baking.

Everything Bagel Seasoning ⤵️
[btw I’m using 50g or equal parts of the following]

Flakey Salt, like Maldon
White sesame seeds
Black sesame seeds
Dehydrated minced onion
Dehydrated minced garlic
Poppyseeds

This loaf was so tasty and fun to make. I seriously think inclusions and laminating are my new fav!

I enjoy sourdough as it is on its own very much, but with the addition of the flagship cheese from and the rosemary and garlic all working harmoniously together, whoa 🤯

I also graded that flagship cheese on top and let that melt onto the crust during the last five minutes of baking, boom!

This complimented, my normal daily loaf that I make and I will be coming back to these flavors again!

Cinnamon Churro Sourdough Waffles 🧇

Need some ideas for your next brunch? Try these… they are THE BEST waffles our family has ever had and something our kiddos ask for every Saturday. The slight tangyness of the sourdough discard pared with the cinnamon churro mix is such an amazing combo of flavors in these waffles. Recipes makes 4ish waffles, double it if you’re making this for your fam bam!

Ingredients
Churro Mix (outer coding):
50g Sugar
3-4g Cinnamon

Waffle Batter (wet mix):
120g Sourdough Starter Disgard
120g AP Flour
120g Milk of choice (I used whole milk)
42g Melted Unsalted Butter
1 Large Egg
12g Sugar
10g Baking Powder
3g Nutmeg
3g Vanilla Extract
