Washington’s Best!

All of these trail photos were taken within the first two years of moving to Washington. And I had the best time familiarizing myself with these incredible hiking trails.

As I became more acquainted with Washington, I went a little further out, spent more time in National Forests, and found trails that weren’t so “basic”.

One of the things I struggled with after moving to Washington was how many people undermined popular and easier hikes.

“Everyone does that trail.”
“It’s nothing special.”
“I don’t do ‘popular trails’”
Blah Blah Blah

I think it is easy to forget that some people are experiencing Washington for the first time, and trails that are “popular” or “overdone” are in fact incredible experiences. They’re popular for a reason, right?

So while every trail on this list is pretty common, they are indeed amazing trails, especially for people new to the area or just beginning their hiking journey.

Photo Dump Time 🥰🥹😭

Tag the friend that drags you along on crazy adventures. I’ll go first.

We hiked a Washington Bucket List trail last weekend and it was EVERYTHING.

I mentioned before that both Caitlynn are doing the TMB in August and was to get some serious training in.

This was my fifth backpacking trip of the season and Caitlynn’s first. And damn. Did this one test me.

But hiking with someone who will slow down, take breaks, and offer up snacks is a great hiking partner.

Camping at Jade Lake was incredible even with all of the mosquitos and people. Like literal swarms of both.

But we had a great time and met some awesome friends along the way!
