✨ HAPPY LUA PRITCHARD DAY! ✨

Yesterday, our entire city pauses to honor a woman whose leadership, love, and service have shaped generations. 💛🌺

To celebrate Miss Lua Pritchard — our Aunty Lua, our matriarch, our fearless champion for community — is to celebrate the heart of Tacoma.

From immigrant and refugee families, to youth, to elders, to Pacific Islander, Asian, and multicultural communities across Pierce County, Miss Lua has poured her life into lifting others up.

She built spaces where people feel seen, valued, and protected.

She makes everyone feel like family.

She leads with compassion, courage, and joy…and she does it all with a laugh that fills the room and a spirit that never wavers.

So when Mayor Victoria Woodards proclaimed November 22 as Lua Pritchard Day, it felt so right.

Because every day, Miss Lua shows us what true servant leadership looks like.
Because every day, she fights for the people.
Because every day, she reminds us that building community is sacred work.

Miss Lua — fa’afetai, salamat, thank you.

For your guidance.
For the doors you open.
For the endless ways you’ve shaped our region.
For loving us all like your own. 🤍

Here’s to celebrating YOU today and always.
Happy Lua Pritchard Day, Aunty! 🌺✨
