Congratulations to the Lower Decks Sound Editing team on their Emmy nomination!!

Last year, Star Trek was nominated in the Outstanding Sound Editing category twice: once for Strange New Worlds (“Hegemony”) and once for Lower Decks‘ “The Inner Fight.” (Neither won in their category.)

This year, Lower Decks is nominated again, this time for Outstanding Sound Editing For An Animated Program for the episode ‘The New Next Generation,” which was the season 5 and series finale. It is competing with Arcane: League of Legends, Love Death + Robots, Secret Level, and What If…?

Star Trek IV • Did you know??

During the courtroom scene in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, the one shot of the crew filing into the Federation Council chambers, has the entire main TOS cast in it: Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Chekov, and Sulu, + Rand and Chapel are visible in the audience behind them.

This is the only shot in the entire franchise in which all of these characters are on screen at the same time.

Fan Discussion • Starfleet Presence - Gamma Quadrant

Given the Treaty of Bajor, and although not canon, the Dominion War Accords, how would the Founders react if a planet in the Gamma Quadrant were to become a protectorate of the Federation or make the request (Article 15)?

According to the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Mission Gamma novel, This Gray Spirit, the Allied Tribunal negotiated a further series of treaties with the Dominion, known as the Dominion War Accords, which among other issues, deal with the level of aid given to the Cardassian Union.
