What do you think happened to Thomas Riker?

Last seen in live-action was Stardate 48467.3 (2371) during the DS9 episode "Defiant" S3 E9.

By 2381, Thomas Riker was on a list of former Starfleet officers that Starfleet Command ordered to be located and escorted to Earth, following a series of mysterious attacks on starships of different species. (Lower Decks: "The Inner Fight" S4 E9). Thomas had presumably either been released, escaped, or was rescued as he was no longer in prison.

Strange New Worlds S5 • Admiral April - BTS

Starfleet Academy • Newcomers galore

Starfleet Academy is also breaking new ground with brand-new races. Sam (Kerrice Brooks) is a Kasqian, who are, as best we can tell, a fully-holographic “species.” Darem Reymi (George Hawkins) is a Khionian. Genesis Lythe (Bella Shepard) is a Dar-Sha. Each of these have no existing basis in canon. That mission to seek out new life clearly continued past Star Trek: Picard‘s brief glance into the dawn of the 25th century.
