The CSS Dawn Star is an Wright-Class Astro Starliner constructed in New France, one of a fleet of luxury passenger liners operating throughout the United Federation of Planets. Designed to provide elegant and reliable interstellar travel for Federation citizens, the Dawn Star offers accommodations for up to 5,000 passengers with a crew complement of 750. The Wright-class liner is capable of speeds up to Warp 9 and is equipped with standard Starfleet metaphasic shielding for passenger safety during long-range voyages. Though civilian in nature, the vessel also carries two Type-10 trench phasers for defensive emergencies.
The ship features an aft shuttle bay capable of housing ten civilian shuttlecraft, along with port and starboard extendable gantry airlocks for docking directly with starbases and orbital facilities across Federation space.
For many Federation citizens, the freedom to travel from world to world is one of the Federation's greatest achievements. Passenger liners such as the Dawn Star are part of the civilian infrastructure connecting hundreds of member worlds through culture, tourism, diplomacy, and commerce. To countless travelers, these vessels are more than transportation — they are symbols of prosperity, exploration, and peace.
The CSS Dawn Star contains a luxurious casino complex, a holodeck recreational park, and a sprawling promenade lined with five-star restaurants representing cuisines from across the Federation and allied worlds, providing passengers with a dining experience to remember. The vessel also includes theaters, performance lounges, observation galleries, and entertainment venues hosting musicians, actors, holographic productions, and cultural exhibitions from worlds across known space. Many Federation citizens board vessels like the Dawn Star with no destination in mind at all, choosing instead to spend their vacations aboard the ship itself, enjoying the comforts and wonders of life among the stars.
