For almost 35 years, I’ve called Seattle my home. I’ve lived in a dozen different neighborhoods, had projects and worked in every single area of the city. I’ve raised my kids here and built friendships that will last a lifetime. Countless memories, mostly full of laughter. Some of them, the greatest grief I’ve ever felt. Today is my last day as a Seattle resident. I’m not moving far, but finally to a place that I’ve wanted to live for so long. I’m celebrating with a Seattle Dog and champagne (my other glasses are packed already) watching The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, a movie that was filmed in Seattle and has a house in it that my dad designed, it was built on the very first property we lived on when we moved here. I’ll be back every Sunday for dinner and thanks, Seattle. My time here has been incredibly powerful and I’ll cherish it always.
This post could never to justice to the profound connection I have to this city. Seattles in the 90’s was an unexplainable gift of music and joy. I’m grateful my last two years here were spent in the heart of downtown. I’ll miss the 206. 💛
