We work with over 100 high school students annually, transforming their passion into real-world, career-connected learning. They don't just learn in a classroom; they run a professional, Billboard-tracked radio station!
What Makes This Program Unique?
Our students gain hands-on experience that builds both technical skill and life-long confidence:
🎧 Real-World Broadcast Skills: Students host live shows, produce audio segments, select and program music, and even handle production work that reaches over 150,000 listeners a week.
💻 Digital Media Production: They learn audio engineering, create award-winning podcasts (including national award winners!), and manage the station's website and social media.
📈 Essential Life Skills: Operating c895 is a true team effort, teaching responsibility, work ethic, self-advocacy, and teamwork—skills critical for any future career.
🤝 A Safe and Inclusive Space: The station actively fosters an environment where students, including those in the LGBTQIA+ community, can find their voice and build self-confidence.
Alumni of the program have gone on to careers in broadcast, TV (like the co-creator of Bill Nye the Science Guy!), social media, and the music industry.
