Arthur Longworth became a model of redemption. Despite earning policy and legal support, it was still incredibly difficult to get him out of prison.

“All this time, I’ve watched an unbroken river of foster youth come in after me,” Longworth said during one of two calls from prison with an Imprint reporter. “We weren’t born to be criminals, but compounded trauma led to this.”

As the state looks to reform its juvenile justice system, special attention is being given to foster children.
