In honor of President’s Day, I’d like to honor our 44th President with this watercolor I painted before his first term. See his folded hands and placid look, representing everything stable, measured and above all, dignified. Behind loom a coming volcanic eruption but we feel safe in his presence. This is American leadership!

I love to paint the dawn and the dusk, (this one is watercolor and gouache) the crepuscular times when the veil between worlds seems thinnest.
But it never stays. Just like the years as they change from one into another.
