SELF CARE SERIES

Today’s self care tip is from Patranya Bhoolsuwann!

I have to admit, I am one of those people where "self care" is not something I put at the top of my "to do" list. And trust me, I always have a "to do" list. But with this pandemic and a career change happening at the same time, it forced me to stop and think about how much my life & health really go hand in hand.

I am horrible at sitting down and meditating, something that's been on my "to do" list for years. But what I have managed to do pretty consistently over the past year is get in my daily walks. I see this routine as a "moving meditation". It allows me to zone out for a little while and just be with me and quiet down. I recently started checking out hiking trails around Las Vegas and realized how much this area has to offer when it comes to a natural escape.

I encourage all of you to take a little "time out" of your busy schedule and just give yourself some "me time" outside. It will do wonders for your body & soul.

“Why do you do what you do?”

I have been getting this question a lot lately of why I switched careers to run my own media consulting company after 20 years as a television journalist.

The simple reason is I want to help people tell their stories. And I want to do it on my own terms.

Working in TV news has shown me that there are so many people who are smart, successful, talented, with a potential to make a huge impact in the world. They deserve the opportunity to showcase their stories. I can teach them how to improve their communication skills so they can better connect with clients and increase their sales. Remember, it’s not the numbers on a spreadsheet that attract people, it’s the story of why you and what you do “matters”.
