Just heard the news, incredibly sad day. Adam and I had lost touch over the last couple years, but his enthusiasm with local and live music will never be matched. You could never out fan the superfan. The name and idea for the Seattle PA came to me because of a conversation with Adam, and that was just one of the contributions he’d make, even if he didn’t realize it. Adam Noble Bass, you’ll be missed.

Thank you Kevin. Thank you for everything you did for the PA, all the local support for local music, everything. You’ll be missed so much.

KISW lost a member of the family this week, Kevin Diers.

Kevin has been a part of the family here at The Rock after winning a contest to host Metal Shop with his friend an co-host Ian Reas. He later went on to be the long time host of Loud and Local as well. Kevin brought infectious enthusiasm and passion for everything he did. Especially Seattle music, the metal scene and pro wrestling. Local musicians and metal fans lost one of their biggest champions and we all lost a dear friend.

Listen for special episodes of Metal Shop and Loud & Local this weekend as we pay tribute to our brother Kevin Diers.

We miss you already.

It’s the last show tonight (for a while) and that makes me a little sad. Ok, more than a little. This band has been constantly in the background of writing sessions, folding parties, road trips, late night zine formatting, shower beers, and BBQs. They have consistently put out banger after banger, and are one of the best live bands around, period. Ive seen them in three states, they’ve seen a million faces, and they’ve rocked them all. You owe it to yourself to see them if you haven’t, and if you have then you know how much fun tonight will be. Thanks for everything Sandrider.

If you’re headed to the show at Climate Pledge tonight, get there early for this. I’ll be there with some records and cassettes for sale for my day job (Silver Platters), full of records everyone should own. I picked them myself, and even added some records by local favorites like and lots more. I’ll even hold them for you at the store of your choice so you don’t have to carry them all night, or I’ll mail them right to you.

You didn’t ask, we didn’t listen. The Seattle Passive Aggressive is back, coming to a landfill near you this Winter.

Two more awesome shows to pick from tonight, first is Sorcia, Githyanki, and Strangelight at and it’s the record release show for their new album “Rollin’ the Dice”, out now. Also, Helms Alee is playing the with Haunted Horses tonight, (and Bellingham at the April 1st). Both super rad shows worth your time this evening.

Now that things have opened back up a little, we are back posting about shows that you should check out. Starting off, this 50th birthday party for with a reunion performance by the Ruby Doe, the return of X Suns, and The Neins at the tonight. Happy birthday Skippy!
Things get a little heavier at tonight, for the Nurser tape release show. If you’re not familiar, their self-titled cassette is chock full of insanely good grind. Check them out tonight with Open Veins, Worth Nothing, and Void Dancer. -James B.

Ten years ago today our first issue hit stores. I had really hoped to someday celebrate this anniversary with a huge show, but here we are. I’m so thankful to have been an incredibly small part of the music scene here for the last ten years, and so lucky to have had some amazing people help out along the way. I’m incredibly appreciative of all of you, and everyone who has paid this free zine some attention over the years. Here’s to things getting back to normal soon. For now here’s a old photo of my floor after a long night of folding and stapling issue 2 back in 2012.
