When Colin proposed, I said yes in a heartbeat! He was perfect, we were crazy in love! We were planning our wedding, everything was great. Then the worst happened — my mom got sick. My dad left when I was a kid, so I was all she had. Every penny of our savings went into her treatment. Months passed, but she wasn't getting any better. I barely left her side. We had to cancel the wedding. It hurt, but, gosh, I was terrified of losing my mom.
I took her test results to another doctor, the best in town. He looked them over, then just stood there, frozen. His face went pale.
Me: "Doctor, what is it? God, is it really that bad?!"
Him: "Miss... has no one told you yet?!
