No classes on Thursday or Friday, either online or in-person, for public school kids in Seattle as SPS says there are an "unusually large number of school staff taking leave following Veteran’s Day."

There will be no school on Nov. 12 for students at Seattle Public Schools (SPS) because of a staff shortage, the school district said.

Washington State Ferries (WSF), which provide service around the Puget Sound in western Washington, suffered significant staff shortages over the weekend, officials said. On Monday, the service’s website went down for several hours... About 28 workers called in sick on Oct. 9, which he described as not unusual. However, there were no substitutes to replace them, which State Ferries spokesperson Sterling described as “pretty unprecedented.”

We very often get feedback from our subscribers, thanking us and raving about our articles. I could fill up this entire page with their feedback, but this one stands out as it's especially touching. From a caller to our subscription hotline: "When my husband, an-ex Navy pilot, was dying and could barely hear or speak, he would just say "newspaper", meaning The Epoch Times. He was asking me to read The Epoch Times out loud to him." Close to death, he could barely see but he would ask her to put it close to his face. He would have her read The Epoch Times to him until the day he died, he loved it so much. She thanked us over and over for providing such a great news source for Americans.

Met an elderly woman today while stocking a newsstand. She asked for an old copy of the paper and remarked that she liked our paper. I thought she was just being polite, but I asked her what she liked about it. I was not prepared for her response. She said that the Epoch Times reports just the facts and allows the reader to form their own opinion. She said that of all the papers that she reads, ours "is the winner." She went on for the next five minutes about how much she appreciated the reporting and how it has brought back traditional journalism. So great to meet such an enthusiastic reader.

If there is such a thing as an Epoch Times super fan, I think I found him while stocking our newsstands. I was going to offer him a complimentary paper but he insisted on paying and he even paid a little extra. He told me that he keeps every copy of the paper and then he pulls out the Chinese edition that he just happened to carry with him to show that he reads both since he speaks multiple Asian languages. I could also tell he had been reading our paper for a while because he recalls when our paper used to be free.

Any other super fans out there? Tell us what you like about the Epoch Times!

A reader approached me to make a compliment about the paper. He sensed an overall goodness about the paper and thought that it was a Christian-based paper. He elaborated that he knew that we operated ethically and he would not expect to see smutty ads in our paper.

A woman at a bus stop complimented me for using a bicycle to deliver the papers. I gave her a complimentary copy of the Epoch Times and she was thrilled to get a copy. She said "These people tell the truth!" Just as soon, her bus came and her parting remark was that the world needed a voice like our paper.
