I associate it with difficult times, but not necessarily something to conquer, more something that spurs growth and change. But yes, my writing has been all about our human power to “overcome” darkness and I need to work to counter any over-reductiveness of that message.

This is a month away! So excited for "Consolatus lux" to be in such great company. This will be a powerful concert, I can't wait. Many thanks to Director Gary Cannon and Cascadian Chorale.

I am both honored and buzzing with excitement at my inclusion in this event at Loyola University Chicago. Even if my piece hadn't been chosen I would still very much want to go, it's the same expansive feeling that film festivals bring!
