4 Play Events, Pacific Northwest Black Pride, and CC's welcomes you to come celebrate Juneteenth with us.

Juneteenth represents the day when enslaved people in the state of Texas were finally informed that they had been freed after the end of the Civil War.

Some people talk about this as being two years too late, because they think about the Emancipation Proclamation, which was issued by Abraham Lincoln, on January 1st, 1863.

Enslaved people in Texas did not learn of their freedom until 901 days later, on June 19th, 1865. This is why we celebrate Juneteenth on this day.

Experiencing Juneteenth as a lived experience means actively engaging with its historical, cultural, and social dimensions, making it a day of remembrance, celebration, education, and commitment to ongoing efforts for racial & social justice.

Come Celebrate Juneteenth with Pride; Let Freedom Ring!
