The Everett Coho Derby WELCOMES Salmon for Soldiers

🇺🇸🎣 HONORING OUR HEROES ON THE WATER! 🎣🇺🇸

The Everett Coho Derby and Columbia Distributing Welcomes Salmon for Soldiers.

In lieu of a day of Honor this year, the crew at the Salmon for Soldiers organization are inviting active military, veterans and captains to participant in this year’s Coho Derby.

Derby tickets for both Soldiers and Captains will be paid for by Salmon for Solders.

All Soldiers and Captains MUST pre-register at https://salmonforsoldiers.org/

All Derby Rules Apply.

To celebrate this new partnering, a $250 contingency prize will be awarded to the registered captain whose registered soldier catches the largest coho among all registered soldiers. 🐟🏆

This is a great chance for our local fishing community to give back to the men and women who have served our country. ❤️🤍💙

If you’re a captain willing to volunteer your time and boat to take a soldier fishing during the derby, we’d love to have you participate! And to all of our service members participating—thank you for your service and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Let’s get these heroes on the water and make some memories! 🎣

$250. One big coho. One deserving soldier. One captain who cares. One awesome derby.

Everett Coho Derby 2026 will take place September 26 and 27. See our fb page or website for more details

🇺🇸🎣

One heck of a one day run from Rivers Inlet to the Port of Everett on a flat calm, sunny seas. Duckworth Atlas provided the comfort and Yamaha XTO’s with impeccable Helm Master control supplied the dependable power and uncanny autopilot accuracy that takes the effort out of a 13 hour run! It definitely makes you think differently about destination angling.

Longtime friend and charter Captain Don Orrell suffered a tragic accident and needs all of our support. I always knew he was a hardy individual but I had no idea that he’s tougher than a 100 gallon fuel tank! https://gofund.me/a33a16878

Great start to the trip as a Percy Walkus Hatchery chinook comes aboard Duckworth Boats Atlas this afternoon. Rays Bait cut plug simply got smashed and 100 yards peeled off the Islander Precision Reels before the rod cleared the Burnewiin Corp THIS is why you come to Rivers Inlet! Without question this is the biggest hatchery chinook I’ve ever seen.

A bit of a northerly chop slowed us down a bit but we’re still going to catch the ebb current through Seymour Narrows on our way to Sullivan Bay for the evening. Then: Finn Bay Lodge in Rivers Inlet in the morning!
