I asked Alice about it, and she just stayed quiet… which made it even worse. The next day, I showed up early at school on purpose. I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN MY FAMILY WHO WASN'T INVITED TO MY COUSIN'S WEDDING – WHEN I LEARNED WHY, I LOST IT.
This weekend was my cousin Debra's (22F) wedding. We were close growing up, but drifted apart after she and my siblings left for college. MY DAUGHTER ASKED MY MIL, "WHAT DO YOU HIDE IN YOUR PURSE?"—THE TRUTH BROKE ME.
My husband, James, was splitting his time between two cities for work. He was gone half the week, and I stayed home with our 6-year-old daughter, Lily.
His mother, Carol, started visiting more often. At first, it felt thoughtful. She brought casseroles, folded laundry, played with Lily.
Yesterday, we were three of us in the kitchen. I was loading the dishwasher, Carol sipped her tea, and Lily sat at the table coloring quietly.
Then she looked up, so casually—like she was asking for a snack—and said:

A MOM BLOCKED OUR DELIVERY SPOT & TOLD US TO "WORK AROUND HER"—MINUTES LATER, SHE REGRETTED IT.
I'm a construction foreman working on a house 250 feet up a hill – every single material has to be carried by hand. Our only lifeline? Two clearly marked No Parking spots at the bottom of the hill reserved for deliveries.
If we need the spots and there's someone parked there, however, I will ask them to move nicely, and most of the time they do so immediately. UNTIL TODAY.
I got a call from our lumber truck driver – he was two minutes away with everything needed to frame the roof. But when I got down to the street, there she was: an idling mom in one of our spots, seemingly waiting for her kid from the school, which is about half a block away.
I politely asked her to move.
She rolled her eyes and snapped, "I'LL JUST BE A FEW MINUTES. YOUR TRUCK ISN'T EVEN HERE. TAKE A CHILL PILL, DUDE."
Before I could reply, the lumber truck rounded the corner. I smiled, waved him in, and asked again – firmly.
She rolled down her window and said it:
"CAN'T YOU GUYS JUST UNLOAD AROUND ME? JESUS, IT'S NOT THAT HARD."
I give her another smile and walk away, a brilliant plan forming in my head. ⬇️

I was down with the flu—102°F fever, chills, body aches, coughing nonstop—and trying to care for our 6-month-old on zero energy. My husband Drew? Completely useless.
The night I begged him to hold the baby so I could lie down, he looked at me and said, “I can’t. Your cough is keeping me up. I NEED SLEEP. I think I’m going to go stay at my mom’s for a few nights.”
He packed a bag and walked out, didn’t even ask how I’d manage alone with the baby while I could barely stand.
When I texted him, shocked, he replied:
“You’re the mom. You know how to handle this stuff. Your cough is UNBEARABLE anyway.”
