Summer camps are back! We're hosting two camps in Columbus, OH this year. June 19-23 and July 17-21. Additional weeks/weekends may be scheduled once these fill up, or upon request.

Founded at the University of Washington in 2018, the bleeps+loops Electronic Music STEM Summer Camp is a project-based, collaborative learning experience for young musicians (and aspiring musicians) age 12-18 who want to explore industry-standard electronic music production, composition, and performance techniques.

The Beat Retreat is a 4 week program that focuses on genre-specific music production within Ableton Live. Our project-based curriculum places a strong emphasis on collaboration and community without sacrificing the individual attention necessary to advance quickly and confidently as a musician.

Attendees will have access to nearly 100 instructional videos, and will meet 3 times per week via Zoom with instructors for live, individualized instruction in small groups of 6.

By the end of the month, attendees will walk away with a fully produced track, a remix, connections to other producers all over the world, and an honorary induction to the B+L Society, an online community centered around music production and synths. B+L Society members get all sorts of benefits such as access to free monthly sample packs, monthly lessons with B+L instructors, peer and professional track review, and more!

In the time since we’ve launched our Electronic Musicians’ Camp for middle/high schoolers, we’ve had a lot of feedback from people who’ve said they’d be interested in participating in synthesizer and electronic music production courses if we were to offer them for adults. We’re excited by the possibility, and would love to know when during the week would be best for all you busy humans!

Even if you do not plan on participating in the course, if you could give us some feedback on when you would be most likely to attend a 3-hour session once a week for 4 weeks, that will help us plan these so that the most people possible can benefit.

Bleeps+Loops: Spooky Synth Spectacular! Artist Spotlight: Ohn Dāka

Over the course of the past 5 years, Ohn Dāka has transitioned from classical French Horn and contemporary experimental to modular and hardware dance music, meshing his classical background with sample-centric grooves. Ohn is one of the co-founders of Bleeps+Loops and performs as 1/2 of Tree Cathedral, a modular synth duo.

23 year old Indo native Limanjaya has made the transition from hip hop to experimental modular music. He combines ambience with hip hop rhythms and soul-touching melodies to create a strange mixture of conventional beats and strange soundscapes. He also co-runs Modular Seattle to help bring MOTS, Modular Nights, and VELOCITY to the growing local scene.

skybox has been making HI-NRG LO-FI dance pop using two Gameboys for over a decade. He has been a curator and organizer for chiptune scenes in the United States including Piko Piko Detroit and Pacific Noise Works as well as a featured artist on notable labels such as Madmilky Records and Galaxy Swim Team.
