While the end of the pandemic is likely in sight, it is still probably smart to stay safely distanced from the masses. Last summer I put together a series of videos and articles for the "Explore the PNW" section of the KING 5 web site. If you are looking for some stellar hiking options you can find some here.

Shot entirely with a Panasonic GH5, an Atomos Ninja V, The Tiffen Company ND Filters, a RØDE Microphones VideoMic Pro, Panasonic and Laowa by Venus Optics lenses. I carried everything in a Shimoda Design Explore 60 backpack and used a variety of SmallRig parts to carry my camera up some crazy trails. I just wrapped up part three of Bottlehead Corp's series "The Doctor Is In. In this episode Doc B details the installation of all the hardware that comes with their tube amp kits. Shot with a couple of Panasonic mirrorless cameras, a stack of lenses, a couple of different mics and a bunch of LED lights. 42 minutes of nuts, screws, tube sockets, RCA jacks, switches and various other parts.

I'm pretty happy with how this wacky open/promo for Bottlehead Corp.'s new series "The Doctor Is In" turned out... Arthur Khu's music is perfect, so I had a bit to live up to. Some explainers... Dan Schmalle goes by "Doc B" on his forums and a couple of years ago he broke the land speed record on his 1962 Honda Super Hawk... and he's an international man of intrigue, so this all makes perfect sense ... turn on the sound for this please.

After 19 years 2 months and 8 days my day job at KING TV is about to come to an end. In a way it will be good, I have long wanted to spend more time shooting and editing and less sitting in a windowless room making TV happen. Hopefully this will be the impetus to make my side hustle my primary income source. In preparation I am revamping some distribution channels. Starting with Vimeo, this is the new "header video" I cut for my profile page. It was a bit of a challenge to make it fit... I found that 1920 x 470 ended up fitting the best, (not the size they recommend). Then I had to find shots that worked well in this very narrow height. I think these all work very well. An update may happen at some point when I find a way to integrate some interview shots.

The series "The Summer of Hiking" ended prematurely with Ashland Lakes. The dry conditions and thick smoke made it difficult to ecourage others to hike. Ashland Lakes provided a deserted alternative to the much busier trails on the east side of Mt Pilchuck. Shot with a Panasonic GH5 and and Atomos Ninja V. Music by Jim Goodreau.
