I was going through some boxes in my storage a while back and found some old CDRs. A lot of the CDs had old pre-production versions/rough mixes of songs that have already been released, but while flipping through them, I stumbled onto this track from Skuntdunanna & Syko called "Situationz." The song was recorded sometime in 2001 when I sent Syko home with Skunt for the weekend so I could get him out of mine & my girl's hair. When Skunt brought Syko back to my house, they gave me a CD with this song they had done together on it. The recording and mix sounded horrible because it was all distorted, so I just threw it in a box and forgot about it. Fast forward 24 years later, with the use of AI and other digital audio restoration tools that are now available, I was able to create stems out of it, clean up a lot of the distortion, and do a whole new mix & master. The transformation was remarkable and has breathed new life into this forgotten track! The beat sounds like it was made by Syko, but they may have both worked on it. This is the only song the two ever did together.
