A little business truth that I've recently been harshly reminded of and think deserves a gentler conversation: scope of work matters. ✨
Not because collaboration should feel rigid or transactional, but because clear expectations create healthier, more sustainable working relationships for everyone involved!
One thing I care deeply about is being able to give my clients thoughtful, intentional attention. The reason I’m able to do that is because my workload is carefully balanced across a set number of projects, timelines, and deliverables.
When projects begin expanding far beyond the original scope without conversation in advance, it can quietly impact timelines, energy, and the level of support everyone receives.
And honestly? Most of the time, it doesn’t come from bad intentions at all. Businesses evolve quickly. New ideas pop up. Priorities shift. That’s normal.
That’s why open communication matters so much. 😊
Some of my favorite client relationships are the ones where we can simply say: “Hey, our marketing needs are growing. How do we adjust together?”
Sometimes that means revisiting timelines. Sometimes it means adding support. Sometimes it means expanding the scope officially so the current project can continue getting the care it deserves.
Healthy boundaries in business aren’t just about saying “no” to people. They’re about creating space to consistently do great work, show up well, and protect the experience for everybody involved. ❤️ Who agrees!?
