"The weight hands hold"

Prompt 2 in the photober series was "hands" and I have always hated my hands. I've always been a nail biter, and skin picker, whenever stress arrives.

So, naturally, I decided to do a self portrait series of my own hands, because what other hands was I going to go out and find?

It ended up being a weird session of acceptance. I am in love with the photos I captured and their raw beauty and story they tell.

Anyways, this one feels terrifying to post, so like it up

It’s normal to be nervous before your photoshoot, but here are some tips to help ease those nerves before you show up. Trust me, it can be fun, and DOES NOT need to be scary. —>



1. Pick clothes that are flowy

With flowy clothes, each pose you do has extra lines. This means that if you shift your weight, your clothes will naturally follow. This can be a dress, baggy pants, a big shirt, etc.

If you’re scared of posing this is an easy hack. It also gives you more material to play with like grabbing your skirt, adjusting your cuffs, etc.

2. Bring your pet

Or your friend, or your mom, or whoever calms you down. You are always welcome to drag someone along for some support, or to jump in a few photos with you.

3. Your photographer is there to guide you through poses! That is our job.

If you don’t know how to pose, don’t worry. I have a natural flow I always bring clients through to get you some natural, casual shots.
