Call of Duty, who proclaimed they are too big to fail earlier this year, released an update on Call of Duty Black Ops 7 stating the game clearly missed its mark, their sales projections and did not meet the communities expectations via a press release a few days ago.

We had a very large hunch this title would struggle as both Google analytics and YouTube analytics were in the gutter for the first time ever for a Call of Duty title. On top of that the trailers being mass voted downvoted and the comments section was insane.

Some of the numbers are starting to come in and they are down right ugly.

Black Ops 7 had an estimated 18 million MAUs aka monthly active users in November 2025, down 50% from BO6’s 36M MAU in Dec 2024. This is across ALL platforms. Play the game once, you are counted. Play it and refund it, still counted.

Black Ops 7 sold 401,000 copies on Steam in its first 26 days, down from the 2,300,000 that Black Ops 6 sold last year.

So much for too big to fail, huh?
