Hello! Recreational Psychoacoustics Lab just hit a year of existence. We've had hundreds of artists create, record, be loud, be quiet, be silent, and be present together. Some have made videos, many have recorded songs and inventions, many have taught lessons and directed practice. We've had field trips and therapy sessions, so many, many cups of coffee, and people from all over the US and world at large grace the space.

Nurturing a place for community to gather and be fearless in their art has always been a focus in my life. Redirecting such a beautiful and historically significant space has been a great honor. So many people have offered their support and we finally have a way to direct it effectively.

We've teamed up with Northwest Film Forum as our fiscal sponsor. This means we can accept tax-deductible donations to continue our efforts in creating sound and community for people of all ages and backgrounds.

There are so many places that resources can go right now, and so many people are struggling. Cost of operations have been kept as slim as possible, and we need help in order to continue and grow together. The goal has always been to help support and fulfill the social, environmental, and technical needs of musicians and artists, and it will take community support.

Hosting a noise bath/resistance lesson on Monday, April 1 at Recreational Psychoacoustics Lab in North Seattle at 7pm-ish . Brilliant Music Therapist and Sound Smarty Dave Knott will be sharing their experiments in a participatory group experience. Bug me if ya wanna know more! Wheeeee! It's going to be very, very fun.

Been hard at work with the new space (Recreational Psychoacoustics Lab). Many of you have probably gotten invites to follow the page on fb and IG. Thanks for the support! There have been many projects that have already been in to work, and it's been a total hoot. So far there have been arranging sessions, music therapy sessions, recording sessions, private events, rehearsal time, and lessons that have taken place. Looking for ideas for projects and events that would be interested in being hosted here. Also looking for bands/solo artists/ensembles/experimental groups that need a place to work and gather, as well as audio engineers that are looking for a home-base. If you or someone you know is on the hunt for a space in North Seattle, let me know! Super open-minded and enthusiastic about the possibilities!!

The transition into the Lab has been quite the journey. Many thanks to friends and colleagues with their knowledge and support throughout. Currently booking recording sessions, mix/mastering sessions, and special tiny private events that could use an especially kind sounding room.
